A forest and country atmosphere for this hike, with unforgettable discoveries along the way: the Darne viaduct, the hamlet of Trézanne, and magnificent viewpoints from which to contemplate Mont Aiguille.

This hike offers views of Mont-Aiguille all along the way, and alternates between forests, meadows and hamlets... Great discoveries!
The highlight of the hike is the possibility of coming by train and starting directly from the station.

Step by step

Departure : You start your walk from the Clelles-Mens TER station, at the "La Gare" signpost.
1) On leaving La Gare, turn left (north-west) onto "Le Réservoir". Head for "La Celle", then turn right towards "Le Génie", then "Bois des Chaux".
2) Continue downhill to "Darne". You are now at the foot of the Darne viaduct. Cross under the viaduct and climb to the hamlet of Trézanne via "Au Fontaniou".
3) At "Trézanne", go as far as the hamlet's chapel to enjoy a breathtaking view of Mont Aiguille. Then return on the D7C towards "Ruthière", passing through "Les Ruines" (stream crossing), "Aux Fontaines" and "Ruthière". At the top of the climb, you'll come to the sight markers.
4) At "Ruthière", at the parking lot, take the track on your left which descends towards La Scie/Clelles. Cross the D7C asphalt road to continue to "La Scie".
5) At "La Scie", follow the D7 towards "La Gare". After a large rock called "La pierre qui danse", take the path down to the left to take the path along a magnificent canal. Continue along this canal to the junction with the D7.
6) Cross the road, and continue straight ahead along the canal to reach "Mailletère".
7) Return to "La Gare" along a pleasant track.
