Understanding Trièves through its history
Several museums are available to you: The Musée du Trièves in Mens, the Espace Giono and the Edith Berger/Jean Giono trail in Lalley and the Atelier Gilioli in Saint Martin de la Cluze.
These 3 sites will give you better insight into the Trièves through its history, the artists’ attachment to the area (Giono was an author, Berger a painter and Gilioli a sculptor) and the images they have passed on to us.
Other sites that mark the Trièves’ past and present include the dam overlooking the Lake Monteynard Avignonet, its information display in Treffort and the lookout point in Avignonet, which has been adapted for people with reduced mobility and the visually impaired.
