The night sky in the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors is renowned!
Observe the stars far from light pollution. The Parc has chosen to take assertive action to preserve their skies, through joining the initiative International DarkSky Reserve (Réserve Internationale de Ciel Étoilé – RICE). Several communes in the Trièves are involved in this initiative, and they are particularly protected from urban and industrial lighting.
An astronomical observatory is located in Gresse en Vercors, near the Dolomites residence. It features a digital planetarium, several telescopes, laser pointers and an exhibition room. The Astrieves association runs the centre and organises tours.
Our animators will help you discover astronomy as a family. This activity is aimed at people who want to familiarise themselves with the winter or summer sky, orient themselves and recognize the main constellations in just a few hours.
Open all year round. An experience for the whole family. You’ll leave with stars in your eyes!

The association manages the Trièves astronomical observatory. It regularly organizes events for the general public. Only during school vacations (except spring and autumn).
